About Tartan Touch
Tartan Touch is designed by Inger Helen Vorley and her team.
Inger originally came up with the concept after struggling to find something to wear to a Burn’s supper. She took to her drawing board and sewing machine, made a selection of prototypes and asked her customers, colleagues and friends for feedback. The collection has evolved through an organic process of listening closely to the opinions of our customers, experimenting with styles, sourcing suitable fabric and finding local and UK based manufacturers.
We have been selling the collection exclusively at The Fountain in Inverurie for some time and in 2011 Tartan Touch was thrilled to be accepted onto the Enterprise Partnership Scotland (EPS) Scheme which is a programme that identifies and nurtures small companies with high growth potential.
As a result we have been developing our collection and marketing it steadily, leading to us having well-received stands at the Ballater and Lonach Highland Games this summer and finally opening on this online shop in September 2012.
Our motto is: Original Tartan Style for Today’s Woman. Tartan Touch is a range of evening wear and accessories, designed by Inger Helen Vorley and her team, all with our distinctive Scottish theme. The Collections are entirely made in the United Kingdom. With a choice of long or short evening dresses, trousers and tops, each our signature Tartans and matching handbags, we have a design and style to suit all ages.
Our garments have been designed with style and comfort in mind with the essential “Touch of Tartan” in every piece. Each garment is made from 100% polyester black stretch velvet which gives an attractive, comfortable and elegant fit. The tartan is made using fine pure wool or taffeta silk tartan. Our core tartans are Red Stewart, Black Stewart, Flower of Scotland, Wardlaw, Buchanan and Mackenzie Ancient.
